Scholarship Programme

As part of efforts to strengthen the debating culture of developing debating communities, increase the diversity within EUDC and foster critical discourse on a more inclusive platform, Novi Sad EUDC is proud to announce the initiation of our EUDC Scholarship Programme.

 

Overview

The Scholarship Programme has reserved 8 full subsidies of registration fees to be granted to applicants from under-represented debating communities to attend Novi Sad EUDC.

This is a need-based scholarship that aims to provide speakers from under-represented and under-developed debating nations access to our tournament.

Criteria

Applicants will be selected based on the following criteria:

    (a)        Financial need of applicants,

    (b)        Potential for personal growth of applicants,

    (c)        Applicants’ desire to use their experience to help foster development in their respective debating communities, and

    (d)        Increasing the pool of diversity at EUDC.

Who should apply?

Participants from countries including but not limited to, those identified by the EUDC Constitution and Council, as part of Central and Eastern Europe, IONA Islands Of the North Atlantic, Northern and Western Europe, South-Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

Scholarship are allocated in individual slots. Thus, both speakers of a team should submit their individual application to receive the scholarship allocation.

How do I apply?

Interested applicants may download the registration form HERE.

Submit the filled Application Form, along with an updated CV and any supporting documents relevant to your applications to NoviSadEUDCScholarship@gmail.com.

The deadline for submission is on 30 March 2018 at 11:59 (CET/UTC +1).

Results of the application will be posted on 5 April 2018.

Successful applicants will be given further instructions by the Scholarship Team

Do I have to be a registered participant to apply?

Yes, please apply for team slots via the normal registration process.

What if I don’t receive the scholarship, am I still eligible to attend?

Yes, if you are not granted a scholarship, there will be an extended payment deadline for you if you are able to procure the funding for Registration (18 April 2018). If you’re unable to, your team slot will be given to the next waitlisted team.
